Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose Face Painting By Ana?

What area do you cover?

Our large team covers most of Auckland, and where possible we will assign artists most local to your event to keep any travel fees (if applicable) to a minimum.

What are your fees?

Each booking is bespoke as it depends on a range of factors, so by providing us with detailed information for your event, we can suggest a booking length and quote you accurately. A travel fee may apply dependent upon location.

What do I (the client) need to provide at my event?

An indoor well-lit space. If we are set up outside for an outdoor event, client needs to provide a safe, covered area (eg gazebo/marquee) protected from sun, and potential wind and rain. Generally we require two regular sized chairs for artist and guest.

If more guests arrive at the party, can you paint them too?

When quoting, we allocate an appropriate booking length based on number of guests, type of event and service requested. If more guests arrive than are booked for, extended booking time can be mutually arranged if an artist is able to stay on.

What will you paint?

We have a large range of designs available. To each event, we bring an option-board of popular design options for guests to choose from, as this helps to keep the wait and choosing times at a minimum. For themed events or parties, please let us know in the booking stage and we'll do our best to accommodate. For corporate events and activations - happy to discuss your needs.
*We don't paint anything that could be deemed offensive or inappropriate.

Will you donate your services for my charity event?

We do donate time and skills to a number of events throughout the year that are close to our heart. However, there is a range of expenses we need to cover to provide the high-quality service that defines our work, hence donating our skills and services for promotion or exposure is not sustainable for a small business. We are open to offer a discount for charities and happy to tailor packages to suit your needs and budget. The best win-win scenario is for you to find a sponsor to cover the cost of our service. This can often be a local business or organization that is looking to support community events and be seen to partner with them.

UV reactive face paints look bright under regular light, but 'glow' when under UV lighting. A room needs to be properly darkened or blacked out to get the maximum impact when UV lights are on.
We have UV lighting available for hire (suitable for up to a 7m x 7m space) subject to availability for the duration of a booking. A nearby power outlet is required as well as extra set-up and pack down time for this additional service.

Do UV Paints bookings have any extra requirements?

Face paints can easily be removed with soapy water rubbed into the design and then rinsed off with water. If any colour remains, repeat the washing or massage with moisturizer and wash off. If glitter has been used, please wipe it away from the eyes. Do not use baby wipes to remove face paint and please make sure all paint is removed before bed.

Glitter tattoos fade over a couple of days but can be removed by rubbing some oil (eg coconut or vegetable oil) into the design for a couple of minutes until the designs begin to lift, then wiping it off gently. This may need to be repeated.
